The ESMIMET project participates in the conference organized by the Institute for Business Competitiveness (ICE), within the framework of the REMIX project, which has worked over the past two years to unite the European regions that have mines in operation to facilitate access to innovation and sustainability of the mining sector.

The objective of the day, carried out at the ICE facilities in Arroyo de la Encomienda (Valladolid), is to promote R&D in this sector at a regional level, as an engine to improve its competitiveness. Therefore, researchers from the ESMIMET team at CARTIF have presented this new initiative, which has started this year, and which aims to design a common strategy for the areas of Castilla y León and central and northern Portugal.

In addition, ICE representatives presented funding conditions that the Institute offers to entities in the mining sector. The day ended with a round table in which topics such as the improvement of R&D in the mining sector or the improvement of the relationship between companies and knowledge entities to establish collaborations were discussed.
